So True.

Happy & Blessed

First off, I did not think I was gonna make it through the last half of that quarter. I am so glad that I did! Passed my CBC, took my boards, and got all A's in my classes :)  Even with starting my last quarter of dental hygiene school, I still don't see much of a light at the end of the tunnel.  I just have to keep on trusting God.  He'll get me through it just like He has for the last year and half!  Okayy.. more like the last 22 years.

Our devotional today in class talked about happiness-- no one can make you happy, but you.  Your happiness should not depend on anyone else.  My dad always reminded my sister and me that our happiness was a choice.  Every once in awhile I have to remind myself of that.

I think I've been depending too much on someone for my happiness, but I'm about to turn that around. :)  One thing that can make such a significant difference in your happiness is recognizing your blessings. They say, if you can list three blessings from each day for a week, you will already be able to see a difference in your happiness!

We tend to focus on the hustle and bustle of every day and we forget to "stop and smell the roses."  We've heard this over and over in our life but its so true!  School and life can take over my life and my head to the point that I forget to take care of me and spend time with the ones I love.  I got to talk with my sister, Karissa, last night and it was just what I needed.  We always laugh when we talk (and half the time we cry).  She is my best friend, always will be!  I am so excited to have her living in the same town with me next year.  It will be the first time we've even been remotely nearby since high school.  I've been  looking at homes with some of my best friends, Juli & Ashley, to maybe find a 4 bedroom home that we could all share.  We're getting very excited about having a life and a home and a job and.. ahh its just so wonderful to dream about!

Counting my blessings..
1. Thankful for the best sister in the world and our much needed chat!
2. I have been so blessed by the friends I have made here-- They are truly life long friends!
3. The tough experiences that make me the person God wants me to be (as hard as it is to be thankful for them at the time, they will get me where I am supposed to be.)
4. EXTRA BLESSING: Yoga-- its so wonderfully calming!

Glamis

We went camping this weekend's for Peter's birthday! His birthday is February 29 and so since he only gets a birthday every 4 years we had to do something BIG :)

This is a picture of the dunes :) They felt so endless!!!

We had so much fun! Bryston taught me how to drive a quad! We went out to Chapparel before we left and we bought gloves and goggles and got a helmet so I could have one of my very own :) I felt so legit! I was wearing some of his old riding pants with all my new gear.. I had the whole get up. I looked pro!

When we got back we rushed around trying to get everything unloaded cause we had dinner plans with some friends from high school. We unloaded, showered and cleaned up in less than an hour and a half-- we were impressed with ourselves! It was really fun to see some of our old friends and catch up.

What a great weekend :) Now back to the real life... one last week of school, then finals, then National Boards. I can't wait for it to be over! And then we're off to Texas (I think that's still the plan.)

Senioritis.

Lately, I can hardly stand being in school. I am so anxious to be out. I find myself on Pinterest and home store websites dreaming about having a home, with a couch and fun curtains! I have been keeping an eye out for furniture and things (I actually bought the cutest pillows last night... I don't even have colors picked out but I just couldn't resist.)

Things are really starting to get busy-- its coming down to crunch time. From here on out, I can already tell, time is going to FLY.

March 2-4: Camping and riding and Glamis
March 6: Pilot Exam #3
March 12: Clinical exam with my CBC patient (its like a practice board patient)
March 15: Final research presentations
March 16: 22nd birthday :)
March 21: Take my national board exam
March 22: Fly to Texas for SB
March 26: First day of the last quarter of schooling for the rest of my life :) :) (Next quarter only has 13 units compared to our typical 21!)

So ready to get this show on the road!!!

Anxiously waiting,

Clinic With a Heart

Today, was Clinic With a Heart (as opposed to one with no heart.)

Its a clinic our school does for the community once a year. We start cleanings at 7 AM and the whole school is working like mad men! Radiology always has people lined up out the door, oral surgery is stacked up and the dental students are filling, extracting, and anything else you can think of-- and we do it all for free.

People line up the day before like its black Friday. We advertise this clinic everywhere and always get a huge turn out. Its sad, we have to turn many people away because there's just not enough time in our day.

We were able to clean so many teeth today though! Such a good experience-- the patients are in and out of our chairs so fast! I love it! It was also super nice today, cause a dental assisting school came to help us out. I could definitely get used to having an assistant.

In our hygiene clinic, we are always secretly scouring for CBC (mock board) and board patients. This event alone, will hopefully bring in half of our class's CBC patients. We have screenings next week so hopefully we find some! Crossing my fingers :)
